There are so many different types of eyeliners and its sometimes hard to know which one to go for. Eyeliners come in loads of formulas, textures and consistencies. We really are spoilt for choice. This post is just a guide of what each eyeliner offers at affordable prices so you can get the right one for you and find the one your looking for!
In order of the photo above, first up on the left, we have a Gel Eyeliner. Pretty much every brand at the drugstore offers a gel eyeliner. The one that I like the most is the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eye Liner in 01 Black. I think its the right thickness for a gel eyeliner, and I also like the brush that it comes with as it makes the lashes look much fuller when you apply it on top.
Next up, is a kohl liner which comes with a smudger on the other end. This is great for a smokey eye or everyday wear because it doesn't give the look any harsh lines.
The next two on the photo are also both kohl liners. The black is by Natural Collection and the brown by Miss Sporty. Both brands are very similar, last a long time and are a great alternative to more high end brands. I find that a kohl liner works best on waterlines as it just glides on and gives the eye a lot of definition. Having a variety of colours is good for mixing up your look from more dramatic to a suttle natural look.
The other type of kohl liner you can buy at the drugstore is much thicker. It is much blacker and bolder when you put it on the eye. I find that for everyday looks it is too much, and is more for a smokey eye, night out kind of look as it would cover most of the eyelid. My favourite is Blow Out Eyeliner by 17.
Now for liquid liners, these are perfect for the cat eye look. The felt tip pen liner by L'Oreal is great for a more precise line, and the Liquid Liner by Miss Sporty is also great for a more daytime liner whilst still looking for some drama to spice it up. The liquid liners are pure black on the eye and don't disappear during the day which is something I love.
So what is your favourite type of liner?
